Are you making new homeschool plans?
I have been in prep mode myself ensuring we have the supplies and resources needed for our next areas of study. One thing I do this time of year when school supplies are on sale is begin to take inventory of our craft closet of any items that need to be replaced or restocked, as well as plan purchases for any additional items we might need down the road.
This is a great time to read through parent guides for your child's courses of study to see what additional supplies and books are required or suggested specific to the lessons, too. I like to give myself ample time to find the best deals and prioritize what we need now versus what can wait until later in the units. Buying in chunks to prioritize our needs and fighting the urge to buy everything at once is helpful for our spending, but it also gives me the time to discern, is this really a good buy for our family ? It eliminates overspending on the front end if we end up making any curriculum shifts.
Reading through parent guides will not only break down any resources to budget for, but it will also give you a good sense of the course scope as a whole, lesson breakdown, and share important planning tips from the course creators themselves. My personal bedtime reads through the summer often include familiarizing myself with these guides and instructions and looking ahead of the initial lessons to prepare for what's to come.
Since I am currently taking inventory of our homeschool supplies and beginning to make lists of anything we need for all subject areas, I have compiled some general items and supplies we love and some that I am keeping my eye on for Prime Day below. Many other supplies we have used over the years are linked categorically on my Amazon Storefront.
